Occupy Wall Street

I support Occupy Wall Street becasue by looking at their mission statement, I agree with most of the points they are making. Spending money on things that are not helping our nation is a waste of money. Torture and cruel treatment of animals by giving them unhealthy substances that will go into our bodies, for our pure enjoyment is not helping us. Descrimination against race, and gender identification is a problem, even though it shouldn't be because it is against the law to descriminate against ones skin color. The fact that the government would rather spend money on things such as these, rather than spending it on things to help us get out of poverty, such as giving colleges more money for scholorships to help students who can't afford to go to college, actually go and get a good education and become succesful so that they can help build up our nation. Even if it is possible to find a job and survive on it, doesn't mean that is the only choice. If the government can help us, why shouldn't we take the help.

Journal Week 4

This week I made in investment in Hanesbrands Inc. (HBI.) I think this will be a good company to invest in because they have a rating of, nine out of ten. This stock has accelerated quite a bit this past year compared to the previous few years. Also since the season is changing more people are likely to buy Hanes products. Their 52 week range is 22.24-33.36, and is currently at about 26.56. It is currently selling for $26.60, and I predict that by the end of next week it will continue to rise to about $28.00. They are a mid cap company, and their sector is consumer goods because they sell mostly clothing items. One of their competitors is Limited Brands, Inc. (LTD.) Who also sells apparel, but their sector is services, and they are a large cap company.

Journal Week 3

1.This week I invested in Wells Fargo (WFC.) I invested in this stock because It has a rating of nine out of ten, which is pretty good. Its 52 week range is 22.58-34.25. Currently it is at about 23.18, which isn’t too good but I am hoping it will get a lot better. The current price to purchase this stock is $22.91. I predict that within the next two weeks this price should rise to about $24.00. One of its major competitors is Citigroup, Inc. (C.) Both companies are large cap companies. Citigroup, Inc. is currently selling for about $22.57, so it’s a little bit cheaper.

2.I also invested in Apple (AAPL.) I invested in this stock because it has really god ratings, nine out of ten. Also, they are very popular right now because of the iPads and different products they are selling, and the new iPads are supposed to be released soon which will help a lot. Apples 52 week range is 277.77-422.86. And is currently trading at 364.65, which is pretty good. One of Apples major competitors is, Google Inc. (GOOG.) They are both large cap companies. Apples net income is quite a bit higher than Googles is. Apple is currently selling at about $363.99, and I predict that within the next week it will go up to about $365.00.
